Certification Details BLS required or obtained within 3 months of hire. Job Details MED SURG ASAP START RN should be comfortable Floating to Med/Surg and PCU Night Shift, 13 week assignment, possibly longer Traveler should have completed at least 1 successful traveler assignment. First-time travelers will NOT be considered. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Previous hospital RN experience is preferred. Possesses a thorough knowledge of nursing principles. Ability to provide quality patient care, and ability to assess patient's needs, e.g. clinical, teaching, mental and spiritual. Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required. Job Requirements Traveler must hold CURRENT NY license. Coronary Care experience needed as well Must recognize safety issues to self and others and be able to assess and implement the use of lifts to move patients in a safe manner. Must be able to function well in stressful situations and have good, creative, problem-solving skills. May be required to assume duties as a charge nurse. Schedule Information 12hr Nights - weekend, holiday and call required 7p-7:30a
