Tact Staff is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in West Bronx, New York. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/12/2024 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel null Department: Ambulatory Surgery | RN Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS. - Beds: 8. This unit focuses on admitting (preop) and discharging (teaching, meds, use of DME, appointments, etc.) of post surgical patients. - Phase 1 and Phase 2?: Must be able to recover phase 2 and discharge patients. - Nurse: Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 - Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS - Common Cases: General, Ortho Neuro, Podiatry, Urology, and more. Recovering post surgical patients, assessing vitals, level of consciousness, monitoring of adverse reactions or complications, pain management, patient education, medication administration, collaboration with healthcare team, continuous observation until patient is stable, and more. - Experience: Post surgical experience. Prefer Someone that has 1 year of MS or PCU experience. Will accept a PACU traveler as long as they understand this isn't a PACU but recovery unit. - EMR: All Scripts - Charge Nurse: Yes, ANCC. Will help to manage flow and will take a patient assignment. - Nurse aids: PCTs, 2 per shift. - Job Duties: Prep patient, vitals, gathering patient belongings, escorting patients, cleaning rooms, and more. - RT Equipment: All Scripts - RNs read strips?: No Tele techs, RNs must be able to identify rhythms changes and life threatening rhythms. - Shifts & Scheduling: M-F Typical Shifts 0, No Holidays or Weekends. - Weeknight/Call Requirements: None - Weekend/Call Requirements: None - Holiday/Call Requirements: None - What is call response time?: None - Floating Requirements: None - Scrub Color: Royal Blue - Unit Specific Orientation: 1-2 days with a preceptor.
