Candidates must demonstrate the ability to handle a fast-paced, high-caseload environment. First-time travelers are welcomed and encouraged to apply. The position involves every other weekend work requirements. Candidates must be willing to float within the specialty and between nearby campuses. While EMR experience is necessary, training on Meditech Expanse will be provided during orientation. This unit accommodates adults and geriatrics, cared for by hospitalists with 24/7 coverage. Diverse med/surg patients populate the unit, which includes 42 rooms dedicated to multifaceted care needs. The facility maintains a strict attendance policy, and candidates must display competency in dysrhythmia management. Technicians will have to pass a cardiac exam during orientation. All prospective candidates should bring their own personal stethoscopes for use on the job. They must also complete virtual modules as assigned prior to their start date. Candidates with international education are required to have their credentials certified. The uniform for the role includes navy scrubs.
