A & A Services is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/11/2024 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel -Several openings for MS/Tele Sub divisions available - General, Observation unit, Oncology, Stroke, Cardiac, Admin, Extended stay. Pick sub division and shift, most likely will be available or I will find you something close. Openings ongoing for the foreseeable future. Must have 1 year of recent experience in an acute care setting. (Hospital or Medical Center) Duties Assess and monitor patient conditions, including vital signs and overall health status. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Provide ostomy care and manage patients with complex medical needs. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Educate patients and their families about health management, treatment options, and post-operative care. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with ICD-10 coding standards. Assist in the coordination of care for patients with infectious diseases. Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the nursing department. Support pediatric patients as needed, providing age-appropriate care and education. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Experience in a nursing home or teaching hospital setting is preferred. Familiarity with DME (Durable Medical Equipment) processes is a plus. Previous acute care environment is required. Strong knowledge of medication administration protocols and laboratory procedures. Excellent communication skills with the ability to teach patients effectively.
