Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - NICU Level II Job Specialty: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) - Nursery Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 3 years required License: Required for submission Certifications: BLS, NRP mandatory; RNC-NIC and STABLE preferred Must-Have: - At least 2 years of NICU experience - Level III experience or above - Couplet care experience - Skilled in breastfeeding techniques and education - Comfortable working in smaller environments with fewer resources - No first-time travelers Job Description: - Work in an Intermediate Intensive Care Nursery setting. - Care for patients 31 weeks and higher, manage common conditions such as hyperbilirubinemia, phototherapy, hypoglycemia, and administer IV antibiotics. - Maintain patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3, with a minimum of two nurses present. - Charge nurse experience preferred. - Experience in stabilization of patients critically important. - Pediatric or PICU experience beneficial for floating purposes. - No titration of drips required. - Work without nurse aides, neonatal support available 24/7. - Handle RT equipment and must be proficient with high flow nasal cannula and CPAP. - Participate in the monitoring of patients using Phillips tele and fetal monitors. - Must be willing to float and help with various tasks, including couplet care. - Operate under a weekend and holiday rotation policy similar to permanent staff. - Called to duty within 30 minutes for low census situations. - Orientation dependent on experience, typically 2-3 shifts. - Preferred candidates should be able to manage patients independently with limited staff resources.
