Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: PCU RN - Stepdown Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required for submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Flexibility and willingness to float and workwhen needed Job Description: - Work in a 40-bed unit with an average daily census of 24. - Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 for both days and nights. - Care for adults with cardiac medical/surgical needs, dialysis, cancer diagnoses, vascular issues, sepsis, respiratory conditions, stroke, post-stent, and post-pacemaker placement, as well as renal failure. - Titrate various drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin. - Function with a charge nurse on each shift; charge nurses also take assignments. - Collaborate with nurse aids/patient care techs at a ratio of 1:12. - Handle high-flow respiratory equipment; RNs will troubleshoot as necessary. - Read and interpret own telemetry strips. - Work shifts scheduled from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM. - Use the Smart Square online scheduling tool. - Fulfill weekend requirements every third weekend. - Rotate holiday schedules with permanent staff. - Float to MedSurg or ICU as required for patient care. - Follow a dress code of Navy Blue scrubs. - Participate in one week of department-specific orientation. - Engage with an overhead and portable lift systems, vein finders, and bladder scanners. - Focus on patient experience, responsiveness, hospital environment, and communication about medications. - Work successfully as a team player, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability with strong communication skills. - Serve diverse cultural populations with an emphasis on understanding and empathy. - Submit requests for time off upfront, with restrictions on additional requests. Note: Candidates must comply with a 50-mile radius rule and may not have concurrent employment in any facility associated with certain health systems.
