Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12.5 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS Must-Have: Epic experience Description: The nurses in our Progressive Critical Care Unit care for some of the most medically delicate and surgically complex patients in our region. Conditions treated include respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications. Competence in the care of medical and surgical populations is required. Familiarity with advanced hemodynamics, including pressor usage per our titration protocols, is essential. Skills in administering antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics, and monitoring a lines, CVP, EVD, and ortho traction are necessary. Infection prevention protocols should be followed diligently. The role requires experience with HFNC, BiPap/Cpap, and oxypendent usage. Nurses with large-scale adult PCU experience and community hospital ICU experience tend to excel in this area. The average patient load is three high-acuity patients. Block schedule will not be approved.
