Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 19:00-07:30 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid Nursing License Certifications: ACLS Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: Nurses in our Progressive Critical Care Unit care for some of the most medically delicate and surgically complex patients in the region. Common conditions include respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications. Competency in the care of medical and surgical populations is required. Advanced hemodynamics expertise including pressor usage per titration protocols is needed. Experience with antihypertensive drips, sedative and Narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics, arterial lines, central venous pressure monitoring, external ventricular drain, and orthopedic traction is essential. Knowledge of infection prevention protocols and experience with high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and other advanced respiratory support is necessary. Nurses with large-scale adult Progressive Care Unit experience and community hospital ICU experience are preferred. The average patient load is three high acuity patients. Block schedules will not be approved for Monday to Wednesday. Weekend track schedules are accepted if blocked.
