Job Description:
**Job Title:** Pediatric Clinical Nurse (RN FLOAT POOL)**Job Specialty:** Pediatrics**Job Duration:** 13 months**Shift:** 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12 shifts per week, plus an additional fourth shift required per month, every other weekend required)**Guaranteed Hours:** 34.50 per week**Experience:** Must have Pediatric ICU, Peds Step Down, Peds Medical-Surgical, or Peds Oncology experience in a hospital setting with at least 2 years of relevant experience.**License:** Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in the applicable state.**Certifications:** - Basic Life Support (BLS)- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)**Must-Have:** - Relevant clinical competence in the area of nursing practice assigned- Pediatric experience required**Job Description:**- Provide safe, competent, and quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of pediatric patients and their families.- Deliver patient care by incorporating the principles of Relationship-Centered Care and applying the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice.- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, integrating assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care.- Prioritize all aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning after hospital care, and appropriately delegating tasks.- Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease.- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and all members of the interdisciplinary patient care team.- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing, effectively allocating material resources.- Role model the tenets of Relationship-Centered Care through actions such as Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding.- Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.- Implement process improvement strategies and participate in quality improvement projects and nursing research studies.- Demonstrate clinical skills and knowledge crucial to quality and safety in the patient population served.- Utilize institutional information technology by documenting nursing practice to support quality and performance improvement initiatives.This position requires physical and mental health necessary for caring for acutely ill patients, including the ability to walk, stand, lift, stoop, and respond quickly in various situations for extended periods.
