Job Title: Registered Nurse (General, Dialysis, Mental Health) Job Specialty: Staff Augmentation Job Duration: 26 Weeks Shift: Mid - 8x5 - 02 PM Guaranteed Hours: Not Specified Experience: Minimum Years of Experience Not Specified License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: Not Specified Must-Have: Experience in a corrections medical center setting Job Description: - Responsible for all healthcare of bedridden inmates, including making rounds, evaluating care needed, and care rendered. - Develop and implement care plans and teach healthcare principles. - Administer medication, including narcotics; provide direct nursing care as needed. - Perform specialized procedures such as IV therapy, chemotherapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, dialysis, blood transfusion, incubation, CPR, tube feeding, catheterization, suctioning, and phlebotomy duties. - Organize and oversee code blue team; direct healthcare staff including hospital aides and licensed practical nurses. - Act as lead worker in charge during assigned shifts in the absence of a higher-level nurse. - Assist physicians in delivering diagnostic health evaluations to students. - Perform clerical tasks such as charting and recording all medications, treatments, and pertinent medical information. - Complete required reports such as incident and accident reports and document medical information. - Order supplies and equipment, maintain constant inventory control of all controlled drugs, medication, and equipment. - Arrange for outpatient clinic appointments and medical examinations. - Arrange for new and refilled prescriptions as prescribed by physicians. - Perform administrative tasks and serve as a liaison within the organization. - Conduct and/or attend relevant meetings. - Occasionally serve as an instructor and as a member or leader of problem-solving teams. - Will work one weekend every third week. First two weeks work Monday to Friday; third week includes working Saturday and Sunday, with either Thursday/Monday off or Friday/Tuesday off during that week rotation.
