ID: 52375024 Shift: 19:00-07:00 Description: BLUE CARD CPI REQUIRED TO SUBMIT Hospital: Research Psychiatric Center Location: Kansas City, MO Address: 2323 E. 63rd Street Unit Name: ADOL, Serenity, ITU, SRAD, and VINE Building: NA Cost Center: General Information Unit Specifics: Number of Beds : ADOL 18, Serenity 24, ITU 32, SRAD16, VINE 9 Patient Ratios : nurses 8 to 1, mht s 12:1 Unit staffing description- ADOL unit takes patients from 12-18 yo, Serenity is a lower acuity adult unit. ITU is the higher acuity adult unit (patients with thought disorder diagnoses), SRAD has patients that live a senior lifestyle. VINE is lower acuity adult unit. Type of equipment : Documentation system: Meditech Scheduling requirements: We require coverage for three 12-hour shifts each day, seven days a week, including weekends. Please note that days off are not guaranteed unless specified in the contract. On Call Requirements: NA Floating policy: C/L is utilized where the greatest need is. Patient Experience requirements: HCA follows ICARE values, I CARE values are integrity, compassion, always, and respect as well as AIDET to keep patients informed and make them feel heard, AIDET stands for the five key communication behaviors that create positive care interactions: acknowledge, introduce, duration, explanation and thank you. Hospital Specifics- Certifications: BLS and CPI Hiring profile Requested Skill Set: Ability to assess patients' mental health status, including recognizing signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems. This involves taking thorough patient histories, observing behavior, and using diagnostic tools. Care Planning: Developing individualized care plans based on the needs of patients with mental health and behavioral issues. This includes setting goals, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes. Medication Management: Administering psychiatric medications and monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions. Knowledge of psychotropic medications Must have: Crisis Intervention: Providing immediate, short-term support to patients in crisis (e.g., suicidal ideation, aggression). This includes de-escalation techniques and appropriate medication management. Advanced skills needed: Therapeutic Communication: Building trust and rapport with patients through effective communication skills, active listening, and empathy. Procedures performed on unit: Monitoring patients for physical and psychological symptoms, including vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects. Certifications Required: BLS and CPI Dress Code: (Required uniform) Or black Nurses wear blue, MHT s wear green or black Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please attach unit specific policies and guidelines.
