Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Psych Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: DAYS - 12HR: 7a-7:30p with weekends and holidays as assigned Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: 1 year of recent Psychiatric experience required License: Current RN License Certifications: Handle with Care certification (can be provided onsite if needed) Must-Have: - Comfortable in a busy, fast-paced acute psychiatric hospital - Adaptable, team player, and versatile - Flexible to work nights, including every other weekend and one holiday per winter season Job Description: - Work with an adult patient population, categorized by levels: - 100 level: Depression and suicidal - 200 level: Severe mental illness - 300 level: Mix of both - Small detox unit included - Ability to float between units - Handle responsibilities such as managing the med cart, passing medications, handling admissions and discharges, and conducting patient assessments (10-15 daily) - Manage a fast-paced environment and occasionally deal with aggression requiring some physical holds - No IV or wound care responsibilities - Patient admission types: 40% voluntary, 60% committed (temporary 8 days then transferred) - Patient-to-nurse ratio approximately 1:12, with at least two nurses per unit (sometimes 1 RN and 1 LPN)
