Weekly Pay Range - $1973 To $2193**Job Title:** Level 1 Registered Nurse (RN)**Job Specialty:** Psychiatric Nursing**Job Duration:** 13 Weeks**Shift:** 3x12.0 Hour Rotating Shifts (Days/Evenings/Nights); includes Weekends, Holidays, On-Call, Callback, and Charge duties per Unit Needs**Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified**Experience:** Minimum 2 years**License:** New York RN License**Certifications:** BLS Certification (American Heart Association Only)**Must-Have:** Telemetry Experience**Job Description:**- Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.- Plan and provide nursing care for patients.- Make nursing diagnoses of the medical and emotional status of patients and recommend treatment options.- Consult with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff in designing appropriate treatment plans for clients.- Administer and note reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.- Arrange further medical attention when necessary.- Assist clients in understanding the nature of emotional disturbances and accepting the need for treatment.- Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.- Test for vital signs of pain and ensure treatments of pain.- Document all patient information on medical charts and follow physicians' written orders.- Maintain patient confidentiality.- Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient treatments, immunizations, and laboratory results according to standard medical record-keeping.- Perform administrative assignments such as filing, answering phones, typing, and completing progress notes in the computer system.- Provide courteous, high-quality service to patients and members of the public by personally responding to requests for service or making appropriate referrals.
