Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Telemetry Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour days, 2 weekends per 4 weeks, 2 out of 3 major holidays Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Ability to read andinterpret telemetry strips - Experience with Cerner EMR is advantageous Job Description: - Work on the high-acuity Telemetry 4th floor with 34 beds. - Maintain a patient-nurse ratio of 1 to 4. - Collaborate with charge nurses and monitor patients via GE telemetry systems. - Manage respiratory equipment, including bi-pap machines. - Coordinate care with an in-house hospitalist available 24/7. - Provide direct nursing care, potentially without nurse aide assistance. - Float to the Med-Surg unit as needed, with travelers floating first. - Participate in floor-specific orientation, with Cerner experience determining the length. - Address and track common diagnoses such as post-CVA, suspected CHF, respiratory failure, diabetes, hypertension, and manage specific medications, including titrated heparin drips. - Opportunity for extra shifts; however, block or set scheduling requests are not accommodated. - Follow the hospital cancellation policy, which allows for cancellation up to three times per contract. - Wear navy-colored scrubs.
