Job Title: Clinical Nurse Job Specialty: Telemetry, Med Surg Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift, 7 AM - 7:30 PM (Every other weekend plus 4th shift per month) Guaranteed Hours: 34.50 hours per week Experience: Must have minimum two years RN experience in Med Surg/Telemetry; Critical care experience preferred; Travel experience preferred but not required License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Telemetry Must-Have: EPIC experience is highly preferred Job Description: - Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship-Centered Care and applying the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice. - Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills in patient care management. - Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care. - Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care. - Prioritize all aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning after hospital care while delegating appropriately. - Educate patients and caregivers, anticipating their needs and readiness to learn, about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease. - Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team. - Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing, demonstrating effective allocation of material resources. - Model the tenets of Relationship-Centered Care through actions such as Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding. - Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and family members. - Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement. - Implement process improvement strategies and engage in formal and informal peer and institutional review processes. - Contribute to quality and safety practices and compliance measures, escalating potential hazards through appropriate protocols. - Document nursing practices accurately and thoroughly in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements. - Perform charge nurse duties as assigned and coordinate with hospital management to ensure resource sufficiency. - Contribute to an environment of care supporting clinical colleagues, patients, families, and healthcare team members. - Encourage and demonstrate a spirit of scholarship, inquiry, life-long learning, and innovation for self and others. - Advance clinical competence in nursing practice and participate in shared decision-making and unit initiatives.
