They play a critical role in patient care by providing medication management, counseling, and collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize therapeutic outcomes. Pharmacists ensure compliance with drug regulations, educate patients, and provide expertise on medication usage, interactions, and potential side effects.Key Responsibilities:Dispense prescription medications accurately and in compliance with legal and professional standards.Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy, safety, and appropriateness, consulting with healthcare providers when necessary.Educate patients on the proper use, dosage, and potential side effects of medications, promoting adherence to prescribed treatments.Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop, monitor, and optimize medication therapy.Maintain patient records and ensure the accurate documentation of medication orders, interactions, and patient responses.Advise patients and healthcare professionals on medication interactions, contraindications, and potential adverse reactions.Monitor and manage medication inventories, ensuring the availability of essential medications and compliance with regulatory requirements.Participate in the development and implementation of drug utilization protocols and clinical guidelines.Provide immunizations, health screenings, and other services as permitted by state regulations.Stay current with developments in pharmacology, medication safety, and emerging pharmaceutical technologies.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.Qualifications:Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.Licensure: Current licensure as a Pharmacist from the appropriate state board of pharmacy.Certification: Advanced certifications (e.g., Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy or specialty certifications) may be preferred, depending on the practice setting.Experience: Previous experience in pharmacy practiceWellspring Nurse Source Job ID #29947214.
