Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Job Specialty: Diagnostic Imaging Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights (6:30 PM - 6:30 AM; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Not specified License: Certification and licensure required Certifications: Licensed throughIEMA and ARRT Must-Have: CT Experience Job Description: - Administer ionizing radiation to patients to produce diagnostic radiographs. - Operate X-ray equipment, preparing patient exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and medications. - Prepare and administer barium mixtures and contrast agents as required for procedures. - Prepare patients for examination, explain procedures, and assist patients on and off the exam table. - Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures according to department policies, employing accepted techniques for patient positioning, exposure control, and radiation protection. - Observe and critique radiographs using appropriate equipment. - Monitor patient condition during exams and report unusual occurrences to supervisors. - Perform portable diagnostic radiographic procedures as required. - Adhere to radiation safety procedures. - Maintain cleanliness of patient exam rooms and work areas. - Ensure examination rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and accessories. - Perform patient reception, registration, requisition processing, and filing, in absence of or conjunction with ancillary staff. - Complete annual educational requirements; attend in-services and meetings when required. - Adhere to the dress code, ensuring appearance is neat and clean. - Maintain current knowledge of ethical business practices and hospital policies, adhering to all policies. - Adhere to all HIPAA and DHHS privacy and security regulations. - Report to work on time, as scheduled, and complete work within designated timeframes. - Wear identification while on duty and use the computerized punch time system correctly. - Represent the organization positively and professionally. - Support continuous culture improvement efforts aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction and employee relations. - Provide service excellence to patients and coworkers. Goals for the coming year: - Maintain current certification and complete educational requirements. - Enhance skills to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies. - Develop the ability to solve practical problems in situations with limited standardization. - Interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
