Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Job Location: Texas
Type of Facility: Acute Care Hospital
Length of Assignment: 13 Weeks
Start Date: Early January
Work Schedule: Night shift, 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM, including 4 weekend shifts per month
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform standard respiratory therapy procedures including nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy, and arterial blood gas sampling
- Manage ventilators, including GE ventilators and V60 BiPAPs
- Operate high-flow nasal cannula devices such as Airvo
- Assist with bronchoscopies and intubations
- Transport patients on mechanical ventilation within the hospital (e.g., to CT/MRI)
- Administer inhaled nitric oxide therapy
- Manage a caseload of approximately 35-40 patients per shift
- Utilize Meditech EMR system for patient records and documentation
- Work collaboratively within a team of 7-9 staff members and a shift supervisor
Requirements:
- 1+ years of adult respiratory experience in an acute care setting
- Active Texas state license
- BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS and NRP preferred not required)
