AlliedTravelCareers is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Sterile Processing Tech in Rochester, New York, 14642!Pay Information$1,205 per weekAbout The PositionJob Title: Sterile Processing TechnicianProfession: Allied Sterile Processing TechSpecialty: SPD TechDuration: 13 weeksShift: EveningsHours per Shift: 8 hoursExperience: Minimum 3 years of experienceLicense: Sterile Processing CertificationCertifications: BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)Must-Have: Experience in a large hospital (500+ beds), travel experience (6 months), and two professional referencesDescription:The Department of Sterile and Materials Processing is a state-of-the-art instrument processing and sterilizing facility.The Sterile Processing Department assists in the decontamination, high-level disinfection, assembling, sterilization, and distribution of clean and sterile surgical instruments, trays, and pans.These functions are done by using state-of-the-art decontamination, high-level disinfection, and sterilization equipment.Instruments, trays, and pans are assembled, processed, and distributed to operating rooms, and various units and clinics.Responsibilities include inspecting, assembling, packaging, and sterilizing surgical instrument pans, procedural trays, technical equipment, and surgical case carts.This role involves selecting methods of packaging and sterilization in consultation with the processing manager as needed.Surgical instrumentation must be examined for cleanliness and proper assembly and function.You will assemble instrument sets ensuring the appropriate number and type of instruments according to protocols.Proper handling of instruments is necessary to ensure sterilization.You will complete count/supply sheets to document contents of trays.Established procedures must be followed to package/wrap trays/instruments to guarantee sterilization.Operating steam sterilizers in accordance with established procedures is a part of the job responsibilities.Frequent checking of time, pressure, and temperature gauges is required to attain and maintain proper levels.Loading and unloading of sterilizers and placing items on shelves for distribution are essential duties.Simple maintenance of sterilizers, such as cleaning drain baskets, is also required.Assuring sterility is achieved by preparing cultures, reviewing test packs processed, interpreting results, and completing required documentation.Adjustments and checks on medical equipment according to specific procedures ensure instruments and equipment operate according to specifications.Equipment not meeting specifications should be sent to the appropriate area for repair.Decontaminating surgical instruments and equipment following established procedures to prevent cross-contamination is expected.Setting up decontamination equipment for operation, cleaning, and disinfecting equipment and the work area upon completion of shift is necessary.Infectious waste and linen should be handled according to established protocols to ensure continuous workflow and compliance with department, legal, and regulatory standards.Receiving and storing supplies from outside vendors and areas, checking stock against requisitions, and documenting stock received are essential.Assisting in maintaining inventory levels is required.Documenting and filling orders for surgical supplies for patient care areas and delivering supplies when warranted are part of the job.Maintaining records of equipment inventory use, frequency of servicing, and equipment not meeting specifications that are referred for repair is necessary.Quality assurance on all sterile supplies and instruments is a responsibility.Daily quality assurance checks on stock levels, sterility dates, and accuracy of procedure carts are required.Critical documentation such as biologicals and sterilizer load sheets will need to be maintained.9670143EXPPLATJob RequirementsRequired for Onboarding
