**Job Title:** Sterile Processing Technician**Job Specialty:** Acute Care - Sterile Processing Technician**Job Duration:** 13 weeks**Shift:** 5x8-hour shifts, with weekend on-call rotation every 5 weeks**Guaranteed Hours:** [Information not provided]**Experience:** Minimum of one year required**License:** [Information not provided]**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) required**Must-Have:** One year of experience**Job Description:**- Demonstrates competency in identification, decontamination, processing, and sterilization of surgical instruments.- Thoroughly understands the processing and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment, including sterilizers, washer decontaminators, and ultrasonic cleaners following a detailed orientation.- Independently ensures the proper operation within the department, including communication, problem-solving, equipment testing, and setup, and maintenance of critical and non-critical supplies.- Ensures soiled instruments and equipment are decontaminated in a manner that prevents cross-contamination.- Ensures a sterile product by properly assembling items and using appropriate packaging products in preparation for terminal sterilization.- Ensures sterility and high-level disinfection are achieved by following the appropriate procedures.- Maintains inventory and appropriate storage of sterile and sanitized items, ready for distribution to various departments upon request.
