About The PositionJob Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technologist to join our healthcare team. The Ultrasound Technologist will perform diagnostic medical sonography, capturing high-quality images of the body's internal structures. These images are used by physicians to diagnose and treat medical conditions. The role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills to provide the best care for patients during ultrasound exams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Diagnostic Ultrasound Procedures: Conduct a variety of ultrasound exams, including but not limited to abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, and musculoskeletal sonography.
- Prepare Patients for Procedures: Explain the ultrasound process to patients, ensure their comfort, and answer any questions. Position patients appropriately to capture the best possible images.
- Operate Ultrasound Equipment: Use ultrasound machines to produce high-resolution images. Adjust settings as necessary based on the patient's body type, condition, and type of exam.
- Ensure Image Quality: Review images to ensure they meet diagnostic standards. Work with radiologists to ensure that the images accurately represent the patient's condition.
- Patient Care and Comfort: Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure, addressing any concerns or anxiety. Maintain a compassionate and empathetic approach during all patient interactions.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Providers: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and medical staff to ensure timely and accurate interpretation of ultrasound results.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Accurately document patient information, medical history, ultrasound images, and results in the patient's medical records. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to regulatory and facility protocols.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure ultrasound equipment is in proper working order, performing routine checks, cleaning, and maintenance. Report any malfunctioning equipment to supervisors.
- Follow Safety Protocols: Adhere to all infection control, radiation safety, and health regulations to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff.
