About The Position**Job Title:** X-Ray Technician**Job Specialty:** Radiology Diagnostics**Job Duration:** 13 weeks**Shift:** 8am-4pm, 5x7.50 hours per week**Guaranteed Hours:** 37.50**Experience:** No experience required**License:** New York State Licensed Radiologic Technologist**Certifications:** American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Certified)**Must-Have:** Competency in performing diagnostic procedures, excellent communication skills in a team environment, quality focus, planning, people skills, dependability, creating a safe and effective environment**Job Description:**- Operate and oversee the operation of radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.- Prepare the patient for radiological procedures and adhere to safety measures to ensure compliance with regulations and the safety of patients and staff.- Identify patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other individuals in a position to understand service requirements.- Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of treatment, and answering questions.- Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning them appropriately, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified positions, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.- Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.- Adhere to established infection control policies and procedures.- Maintain production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures, processing radiographs, observing radiographic results, and making necessary adjustments.- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, including the completion and verification of exams.- Ensure the operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.- Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory levels and anticipating needed supplies.- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by maintaining regulatory CME requirements, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.- Complete yearly Age Specific Competency.- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.**Schedule Notes:** 8am to 4pm, weekly shifts.**Languages:** English (Speak, Read, Write)9533489EXPPLAT
