About The Position**Job Title**: X-Ray Technologist**Profession**: X-Ray Technologist**Specialty**: Radiology - X-Ray**Duration**: 13 weeks**Shift**: Potentially rotating D/E/N**Hours per Shift**: 8**Experience**: 2 years**License**: Radiologic Technology Certification (ARRT)**Certifications**: BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)**Must-Have**:Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic TechnologyCertification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)License to practice in the relevant state or able to obtain prior to startingLevel 1 trauma center experience**Description**:Verify patients' identity and review physician's orders before beginning x-ray procedures.Use x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs.Explain x-ray procedures to patients and answer their questions.Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.Handle all radiologic equipment safely, ensuring doses to patients are as low as possible.Observe each patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to meet age-specific needs.Produce diagnostic, high-quality images for interpretation by the Radiologist.Promptly notify management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.Utilize electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, and appropriate exam information.Understand and practice the dual patient identifier procedure.Maintain accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and ensuring they are sent to the PACS system correctly.Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.Exhibit a patient and compassionate disposition.Work effectively as part of a team to maintain a cohesive working environment.9639319EXPPLAT
