Summary: The primary responsibility of our Project Manager is to oversee and manage construction projects ranging from $500,000 to $50 million. Through administrative guidance of on-site Superintendents, the Project Manager ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Additionally, they play a crucial role in investigating potential issues and implementing corrective measures when necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all projects with a professional, courteous, and helpful demeanor at all times.
- Provide initial client contact to assess project scope and required resources.
- Set direction, align resources, and execute projects at a high standard.
- Supervise the total construction effort, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, design, budget, and schedule.
- Interface directly with client representatives and other contractors.
- Create and manage project schedules.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts, including fee payment, rental equipment, and income/expenses.
- Initiate and oversee extra work estimating and the issuance of change orders.
- Assume responsibility for craft productivity, efficient material and equipment use, and contractual performance.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate policy boundaries.
- Manage job costs and coordinate subcontractors, leading contractor meetings.
- Write and manage subcontracts and change orders.
- Coach, mentor, and develop Project Engineers.
- Effectively problem-solve and address issues as they arise.
- Ensure efficient and comprehensive project closeout, including financial aspects.
- This role may involve short and long-term travel; candidates must be willing to travel or relocate for extended periods on a project-specific basis.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proficient in overseeing all facets of project management, encompassing technical, safety, schedule, cost, and financial responsibilities.
- Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Office, Primavera, AutoCAD, and Viewpoint software.
- Preferred background in the automotive sector.
- Strong problem-solving and planning abilities.
- Possession of a 4-year degree in engineering or construction management, or equivalent technical training and/or related experience.
- A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in heavy industrial project management.
