DescriptionHourly Rate of Pay: $20Works in a Site Based or Recreation Respite program with children, teens, and adults with developmental disabilities to provide fun and enrich their lives through activities such as games, music, art and homework help, providing relief to people who are responsible for their primary care and support. Support the persons served character, choices, strengths, interests while ensuring a safe, healthy, and clean environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES - Respects and maintains the confidentiality of the program participants. Demonstrates a positive and caring attitude towards program participants, families, and staff.- Responsible for the safety and well-being of program participants. - Assists program participants with activities of daily living as needed. - Assists program participants with mealtime supports as needed.- Assists in the development and implementation of monthly activity calendars.- Assists program participants in social and recreational activities.- Assists program participants with homework assignments as needed.- Performs daily site cleaning, food preparation in keeping with dietary needs. - Completes all tasks necessary to ensure health and safety of each person receiving services'- Attends/participates in general staff meetings, in-service training and other pertinent agency meetings/trainings.- Participates in quarterly training on Behavior Plan for all people enrolled in Intensive Respite department wide.- Responsible for accurate daily documentation per OPWDD and agency standards.- Completes and reviews daily on-line documentation and agency forms as applicable.- Works collaboratively with all supervisors and coworkers. - Safely transports people to and from Respite Program and for Respite Program activities following proper procedures when approved to drive. - Performs CPR and Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R).- Responsible for recording time worked at the start and end of each shift.- Provides flexible availability to the supervising Program Director on a monthly basis. Availability must include weekends. Communicates with the Program Director to determine which locations you will be scheduled to work at on a monthly basis based on the needs of the program. - Ability to travel to multiple locations throughout the agency. - Demonstrates flexibility with changing locations as needed to ensure site minimums are maintained throughout the department. - Complies with all agency policies and procedures.- Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - 18 years of age- High School Diploma or GED - One year of experience preferred- Valid Driver's License that meets agency policy.- Ability to read, write, comprehend plans and documentation - Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.- Ability to meet physical requirements of the position when performing the following: standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling and climbing.- Lifting requirement of 35 lbs.- Ability to support people receiving services with repositioning, lifting and transferring as required by their person-centered plan.- Physical agility and ability to react to emergency situations, including maintaining Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R) certification as per regulatory guidelines.- CPR certification.Why People Inc.?When you join the People Inc. team, you can make a difference in the lives of people receiving services while also receiving outstanding benefits (generous PTO, PTO buyback, affordable insurances, tuition reimbursement, career mentoring, shift incentives, on-demand pay access and more), consistent schedules and the opportunity to help others move closer to their life goals and dreams.
