We are looking for experienced traveling low voltage technicians within the Integrated Communications Technologies construction field.This position will work at our various projects throughout the United States spending a minimum of 5 days at a time in the city/location of the project. MCA will cover any and all travel expenses (air travel, hotel and rental car accommodations, and a provided per diem).Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience and be very proficient working with many of the following skills:
- Cat3, 5, 5e, 6, and 6a data cabling including the termination of RJ45 and keystone jacks
- Fiber optic cabling including splicing, polishing, and quick connection terminations
- Coax cabling including F and/or BNC connector termination
- Server rack and closet buildouts including patch panel termination and network switch setup in MDF/IDF environments
- J-hooks, ladder racks, and cable trays
- 110 and 66 wiring blocks
- Data center buildouts
- Network wireless access points
- Digital antenna boosters
- Audio systems and SPL meter testing
- LED boards and video walls
- Smart boards, interactive touch screens, and flat panel displays
- High-end projectors
- Integrated AV equipment including Cisco, Zoom, Polycom, Digital signage, IPTV, SMART Board, Crestron, AMX, Extron, Kramer, ClearOne, Biamp
- Code upload, configuration, fault finding, onsite diagnostics, and technical checks
- Soldering of cables
- Teleconferencing center buildouts
- Workstation outlets
- Nurse call systems
- CCTV and access control
- TIA, EIA, BICSI, or NEC Standards for installation, troubleshooting, service, communication standards, electrical codes, and building codes
- Conducting audits, writing reports, and completing delivery site surveys
- Working with and potentially managing teams and team scheduling
Essential duties and responsibilities consist of but are not limited to:
- Demonstrate ability to consistently complete projects within budget, on time and in a safe manner.
- Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Adhere to all required project safety and operational requirements as set forth by MCA and OSHA.
- Maintain the MCA's high standard of quality and professionalism with regards to workmanship, customer relations, coworkers, behavior, and appearance.
- Perform any other duties not specifically stated herein, but which your supervisor may assign.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Must pass a drug test
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule (nights and weekends when needed)
- Must be able to meet physical requirement of construction - lift items up to a minimum of 50 pounds, work in the elements (heat, cold, wind, dust, debris, etc.)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be willing to work anywhere throughout the United States (possessing a valid passport and being able to work abroad is a plus)
Abilities:
- Lift up to 100 pounds at one time and at least 50 pounds for an extended period of time.
- Fully utilize and relocate a 10-12 foot stepladder without assistance.
- Works at various heights up to 60 feet; can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
- Full ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, turn, twist, crawl, squat, walk, climb, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
- Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see the differences in colors, shades, and brightness
- Possess the ability to understand and communicate in English at a minimum conversational level.
- Meet any and all OSHA safety requirements.
