This role will work closely with the project management team, ensuring quality control, safety, and successful project delivery. The Traveling Superintendent will manage on-site operations, subcontractors, and schedules, requiring extended travel to various job sites. - Project Coordination & Management:
- Oversee daily construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the project management team to procure materials, review pre-construction designs, and ensure the constructability of engineered documents.
- Lead weekly subcontractor review meetings (OAC) with the Project Manager and monitor subcontractor performance.
- Construction Oversight:
- Manage various construction scopes, including survey, excavation, concrete (foundations, slabs, flatwork), structural steel, pipe racks, field-erected tanks, PEMB, piping, electrical, and commissioning.
- Experience with managing self-perform crews to meet project goals and schedules.
- Scheduling & Planning:
- Create and track detailed 3-week look-ahead schedules.
- Track CPM schedules and ensure alignment with project timelines.
- Implement and manage productivity tracking and resource management.
- Quality Control & Safety:
- Implement quality control processes and ensure adherence to all safety protocols on the job site.
- Collaborate with the team to identify innovations and review how to navigate 3-D models to enhance project outcomes.
- Software & Reporting:
- Utilize Procore to manage project documentation and track progress.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project for scheduling and project management tasks.
- Communicate project updates to internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- 10+ years of experience in construction, with expertise in commercial and industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of procurement, pre-construction, constructability review, and safety implementation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and self-perform crews across diverse scopes of work.
- Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal employees, subcontractors, and clients.
- Ability to create secondary control surveys, manage excavation, concrete, structural steel, PEMB, piping, and electrical components.
- Ability to manage extended travel to project locations.
