We are seeking an experienced Traveling Construction Project Superintendent for industrial related projects in Massena, NY. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing trades and effectively managing daily on-site activities. The successful candidate must possess the knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the design professionals, consultants and client while successfully directing the sub-contractors and other construction related personnel in planning, coordinating and safely executing the work in accordance with the contract documents, schedule and budget. This individual will work closely with the Project Manager and fulfill an integral role on the project. This position will require travel within Central New York. Position Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of the project schedule
- Review the project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, scheduling and potential construction problems.
- Control all day to day site activities.
- Complete required daily project field documentation.
- Maintain good relations and communication with all involved with the project.
- Contact, schedule and coordinate all subcontractors, suppliers and utilities.
- Monitor and maintain the project construction schedule on a weekly basis.
- Conduct weekly subcontractor & safety meetings
- Inform the Project Manager of any errors, discrepancies or omissions contained within the design drawings.
- Maintain a safe job site and ensure that the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act are
- Enforced.
- Coordinate and direct independent testing and inspections as required.
- Maintain and enforce good construction standards and quality control to ensure conformance with contract documents.
- Ensure that as-built drawings are prepared on an ongoing basis by all trades during the construction period.
- Coordinate all required municipal inspections.
- Prepare and expedite project deficiency lists.
- Ensure the project site is kept clean and in a safe working environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Minimum 10 years' experience as a construction superintendent or having lead construction projects in the field.
- College or university degree.
- Possess strong ability to read and interpret plans and specs
- Must have understanding of construction terms, scheduling and planning concepts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel.
- Procore project management software prior experience a plus.
- Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Must understand the importance of safety and quality on job sites
Estimated Compensation Range: $140,000 - $175,000/year* *Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
