Job Description:

My client is a leading employee-owned general contractor specializing in industrial/manufacturing and automotive dealership construction and renovations. They are committed to delivering exceptional projects on time and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Position Summary:

As a Traveling Superintendent, you will play a critical role in overseeing the successful execution of construction projects across the East Coast. You will be responsible for managing all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Oversee all phases of construction projects, from mobilization to project closeout.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or issues.
  • Implement effective project management strategies to ensure timely completion.

Subcontractor Management:

  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Resolve subcontractor disputes and issues promptly and efficiently.

Quality Control:

  • Enforce strict quality control standards throughout the construction process.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to project specifications and building codes.
  • Implement corrective actions to address quality deficiencies.

Safety Management:

  • Prioritize safety on all job sites, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
  • Implement safety training programs for all project personnel.

Client Relations:

  • Build strong relationships with clients and maintain open communication.
  • Address client concerns and questions promptly and professionally.
  • Provide regular project updates to clients.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction, preferably in industrial/manufacturing or automotive dealership projects.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera).
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the East Coast region.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
