The Resource Center has been providing services to persons with disabilities in the Chautauqua County area since 1958. From our humble beginnings as a gathering of parents and concerned citizens who wanted to provide educational and training opportunities for persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities, The Resource Center has grown into a comprehensive agency providing services to thousands of persons with all types and levels of disabilities.The Resource Center is the largest non-governmental employer in Chautauqua County with more than 1,300 employees on its payroll.The mission of The Resource Center is to support individuals with disabilities and other challenges in achieving maximum independence, contributing to their community, experiencing lifelong growth, and enjoying quality of life.SPECIALISTRESPONSIBLE TO: Designated Support Department Supervisor.FUNCTION: To assist and facilitate various functions within area of responsibility. - Processing of employee insurance enrollments, terminations, and status changes
- Reporting of name, address or other employee information changes to applicable vendor(s)
- Setting up and/or modifying payroll deductions for designated benefits, in conjunction with the Payroll Department
- Drafting and distribution of routine correspondence with insurance vendors or designated others as needed or assigned
- Serves as employee resource for routine insurance questions.
- Ensures processing and distribution of benefit letters for terminating employees
- Serves as day-to-day liaison with insurance vendors, administrators and relevant others regarding enrollments, terminations, claims processing and other related duties.
- Coordinates the implementation of benefit enrollment period and annual open enrollment period(s).
- Periodic audits of enrollments, premium statements and benefit deductions
LEAVE MANAGEMENTResponsible for the day-to-day administration of all leaves of absence, including American's with Disabilities Act (ADA), NYS Short-Term Disability (DBL), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), NYS Paid Family Leave (PFL), including but not limited to:
- Validation, processing, and tracking of all claims
- Timely and accurate monitoring of all leaves of absence, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and TRC policy
- Coordination of concurrent leaves of absence
- Timely and accurate communication with department Directors, regarding frequency and durations of leaves of absence
- Coordination of recertification, as deemed reasonable and appropriate, based upon supporting medical documentation
- Ensuring timely and accurate termination of employment for employees with exhausted leaves of absence
EMPLOYEE EDUCATIONUnder the direction of the Administrator, assumes responsibility for a variety of benefits education activities, including individual or group training sessions.OTHER
- Performs other related duties and participates in projects as assigned.
- Ensures employee enrollment in and access to HRIS system for purposes of benefits, and employee self-service
