Ensures safe potable water is provided to all consumers and wastewater effluent discharge meets all Federal and State guidelines.We offer apprenticeship/trainee opportunities which provide on-the-job training and support that prepares the candidate to test for and obtain professional licensure in water and/or waste-water treatment.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. Must have a Driver's License. General knowledge of overall operation of water and wastewater treatment plants, and associated control regulations. Must be able to independently carry out the required duties without direct supervision. Must have some understand of water and wastewater operations or able to quickly learn how to handle chemicals, understand biological control for wastewater treatment and water treatment, and diagnose and correct problems and make mechanical repairs.Additional ConsiderationsTrades experience with a background in electrical or plumbing. Experience in water and/or wastewater treatment plant operation. Class Licensure (I, II, III, or IV) in water and/or wastewater or eligibility to acquire a licensure within a year of hire.
