Our firm is seeking an experienced senior attorney who is adept at handling a large caseload and familiar with all aspects of the trial process, particularly drafting pleadings, motions, notices, and working toward a resolution. Responsibilities:
  • Anticipate, prepare for, and attend trials, mediation, and arbitration on behalf of clients
  • Get appropriate documents prepared, such as motions, pleadings, notices, and discovery requests and responses
  • Attend court hearings on behalf of clients and argue motions
  • Stay updated on changing applicable laws and statutes on the local, state, and federal levels
  • Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions
  • Manage a pipeline of approximately 100-120 personal injury cases to ensure cases progress seamlessly from inception to settlement/trial
  • Litigate cases for maximum settlement amounts
  • Conduct depositions
  • Attend mediations, hearings, and trials as needed
  • Prepare legal documents
  • Maintain heavy communication with clients, opposing counsel and adjusters
  • Negotiate settlements as needed, outside of mediation and trial
  • Meet monthly established goals and metrics
  • Qualifications:
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills are required, as well as persuasive writing and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience advocating for clients in trials, mediation, and arbitration
  • Five years of experience as a senior associate in the legal industry
  • Bachelor's degree with a law degree from an accredited law school (such as an LLM, JSD, or J.D. degree)
  • Member of state and local bar associations in good standing
  • Must have an active NY bar license in good standing
  • At least 5+ years of experience working as an associate attorney
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Track Record of successful settlements via negotiation, Offers of Settlement, mediation and jury trials
  • Compensation:

    $200,000+ based on experience + bonus
