Full Job Description: Class A CDL drivers will deliver new and used tractors and trailers to customers. Drivers will also perform local daily runs as well as maintain equipment. Safe and professional operation of a commercial motor vehicle, including but not limited to: Combination vehicles and straight trucks. Comply with all applicable Department of Transportation regulations including but not limited: Controlled Substances, Commercial Driver Licensing, Driver Qualification, CMV Operation, Hours of Service; CSA inspections and compliance, Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance, etc. Complete pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections of equipment. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance Maintain route plan as provided by Dispatch. Communicate to Dispatch any barriers to maintaining the route plan so any changes can be communicated to the customer. Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts. Truck drivers are expected to help with work in the yard as well as operate truck. Yard work and maintenance that may need to be performed includes but not limited to greasing equipment, replacing lights, tire change, moving and washing equipment. Home most every night but flexibility in schedule. This position requires some night and weekend work, and sometimes requires you to stay overnight in provided accommodations. Ability to work in all weather conditions.
