POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES The Trucking Manager will be responsible for overseeing the trucking operations and supporting well plugging efforts. It will include managing a team of truck drivers and will be responsible for safely coordinating rig and equipment transportation to ensure they are available when needed and ensuring operations run efficiently. Responsibilities: Lead and manage the trucking team to execute well plugging operations via transporting plugging rigs, heavy equipment, and materials safely and efficiently. Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to trucking team members. Participate in employee hiring, managing, and coaching practices. Oversee daily trucking operations including scheduling drivers, transportation of equipment and materials, and planning rig moves. Coordinate with drivers, rig crews, and other departments to ensure timely pickup and delivery of equipment and materials and to promote safe and efficient rig moves while ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Prepare and communicate daily dispatch report. Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions to promote a safety-first culture among the trucking team. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and DOT regulations, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all near misses, workplace injuries, accidents, or illness, regardless of the severity of the injury or accident. Supervise trucking equipment maintenance and ensure equipment readiness for operations. Conduct frequent inspections of equipment to identify issues regarding safe and efficient operations and make timely recommendations to rectify any noted problems. Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule and manage regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs. Lead and mentor truck drivers on best practices, safety protocols, equipment inspection, and maintenance procedures. Relay and ensure all expectations regarding safety, performance, job site, maintenance, efficiency, etc. are upheld within the trucking function. Monitor and analyze operations and make recommendations for improvements, optimization, and cost efficiencies. Review daily operations reports detailing and approving operational activity that occurred on site. Complete reports to be submitted in-house and to local state agencies when necessary. Review time worked and PTO requests for direct reports. Check emails daily and comply with email requests as they are assigned. Provide regular updates to management regarding field progress, issues, and delays. Track and report cost and spending updates. Coordinate with management to address and monitor any personnel issues. Perform other duties as requested or assigned, including occasionally assisting with non-plugging or special projects per direction of management. POSITION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL). Additional certifications in logistics or transportation management are a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in trucking or logistics, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Ability to lead, motivate, manage, and develop a team of truck drivers. Solid understanding of safety and DOT regulations and protocols associated with trucking, plugging rigs, and heavy equipment. Thorough understanding of and commitment to upholding safety regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors. Demonstrated attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Basic computer skills/proficiency. Willingness to travel to visit work sites; occasionally requires extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) outside normal office area. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, FR clothing, respirators, earplugs, steel-toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done. Walking, stepping, climbing, or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another. Visually seeing driving operations well (either naturally or with corrective lenses). Standing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and sitting. Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms wrists, hands and back in performance of work. Lifting 50lb objects or more occasionally. Adapting to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure to sometimes adverse weather conditions.
