Position Summary
The Truckload Pricing Analyst is responsible for managing the quoting process for truckload freight, analyzing pricing strategies, and tracking performance metrics to ensure competitive and profitable outcomes. Working closely with Carrier Sales Representatives (CSRs), this role bridges the gap between financial analysis and operational execution to optimize Serve Freight's pricing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Pricing and Quoting:
- Develop and manage truckload pricing strategies that align with market trends and company goals.
- Generate and deliver accurate and timely quotes to CSRs for customer opportunities.
- Monitor and evaluate competitors' pricing to maintain Serve Freight's competitive edge.
- Performance Tracking and Analysis:
- Analyze the effectiveness of pricing strategies and quote success rates, providing actionable insights to improve outcomes.
- Track and report on profitability and performance metrics for truckload pricing.
- Identify patterns and trends in pricing data to forecast market shifts and inform strategy adjustments.
- Collaboration:
- Partner with CSRs to understand customer needs and provide tailored pricing solutions.
- Work cross-functionally with finance, sales, and operations teams to align pricing strategies with business objectives.
- Market Research:
- Conduct ongoing research on freight market trends, customer preferences, and economic conditions to refine pricing models.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and changes that impact pricing strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for education.
- Strong analytical skills with 2+ years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or logistics.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Tableau, or similar).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the logistics or transportation industry is a must.
This position has a base hourly pay + commissions.
