Are you an experienced Trusts & Estates attorney looking for a leadership role at a dynamic and growing firm? Our client, a reputable New York City-based law firm, is seeking a highly skilled attorney to lead their newly established Trusts & Estates Practice Group. This is an exciting opportunity to work with high-net-worth individuals and families on complex estate and tax planning matters, while enjoying a supportive and collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the firms Trusts & Estates practice, providing strategic estate and tax planning for high-net-worth clients and multi-generational families.
- Draft complex estate planning documents, including revocable/irrevocable trusts (GST Trusts, GRATs, SLATs, and charitable trusts), wills, and powers of attorney.
- Advise on estate, gift, GST, and income tax laws, as well as business succession planning and charitable giving.
- Handle complex trust and probate administration matters.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of federal and state tax laws to provide comprehensive client advice.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with a focus on delivering exceptional service.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York State Bar.
- Extensive experience in estate planning, trust administration, and tax law for high-net-worth clients.
- A portable book of business valued at $400,000 or more.
- Strong drafting, research, and communication skills.
Compensation:
- Competitive base salary of $125,000 - $200,000, with potential for additional origination credits.
