As a Test Engineer Advisor supporting the FDA contract in the Technology Shared Services (TSS) group, you will be trusted to perform testing of Appian software. Position is Hybrid 2x per month in Rockville, MD. Position is moving to Gaithersburg, MD at the end of the year and will also require 2x per month. HOW THE TEST ENGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
  • Design and develop test and testing requirements for products, systems, software and/or related technology using independent judgment
  • Partner with applicable technology teams to determine testing parameters
  • Write test plans and create test cases for product(s)
  • Conduct quality assurance and design performance tests using established testing procedures
  • Provide troubleshooting for moderately complex testing errors and streamline testing procedures
  • Ensure testing methodology and procedures meet company and industry standards
  • Build and execute automated tests
  • Prepare reports and advanced analysis for testing
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology and best practices relevant to the industry
  • Provides guidance and leadership to less experienced personnel
  • Participate in Agile software development initiatives to support innovation and enhancement of applications through iteration/functionality testing
  • Collaborate with team members to assess Story Point/complexity efforts to ensure proper testing and delivery of functionality per User Story Acceptance Criteria
  • Collaborate with team members to develop test approaches with emphasis on automation of recurring/regression test cases through selected toolsets
  • Develop and document end-to-end functionality test case narratives using task management system (ServiceNow Test Management/JIRA)
  • Provide early exploratory testing during the development phase
  • Design, code and deploy automated test scripts
  • Maintain test documentation, provide support to government test organization, evaluate test results, and provide feedback in a Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery Pipeline WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
    • Master's degree with 8 years of experience, Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience, Associates' degree with 12 years' experience, or 14 years of experience with no degree
    • Must have significant experience testing Appian
    • Proficient in the different software testing methodologies
    • Conceptual knowledge on Agile integration - working as part of an Agile team utilizing Scrum or Kanban
    • Knowledge of various SDLC methodologies
    • Ability to test applications developed with commercial-off-the-shelf products
    • Ability to interact effectively with customers and stakeholders
    • Ability to work independently under limited supervision and as part of a larger team
    • Ability to manage multiple task assignments
    • Collaborative - team player who works well with customers and colleagues at all levels
    • Quality and Detail focused
    • Ability to obtain and maintain FDA Public Trust Clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
      • Experience with testing ServiceNow, Salesforce
      • Experience with programming in Java / C#, JavaScript or equivalent Programming Language
      • 2+ years with AWS, JMeter, Postman, API tools
      • Automation Testing Tools (such as Automated Test Frame (ATF), Selenium WebDriver) experience
      • Automated Testing - Building and Maintaining Frameworks

        • Ability to make a real impact on the world around you The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
