QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent; ESSA certification required (Associates or higher degree, minimum of 72 college quarter credits, or ETS Test). 1+ year of experience working in an educational setting with students experiencing significant behavioral/social emotional challenges. Current training in restraint and isolation techniques. Holds certificate as a registered behavior technician or more advanced certification. Strong written and verbal English skills. WA State driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between schools if required. First Aid/CPR Certification. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • MEASUREMENT
    • Prepare for data collection, enter data and update graphs under the direction of a supervisor
    • Implement continuous measurement procedures (e.g., frequency, duration)
    • Implement discontinuous measurement procedures (e.g. partial & whole interval, momentary time sampling)
    • Implement permanent product recording procedures
  • ASSESSMENT
    • Describe the behavior and environment in observable and measureable terms
    • Conduct preference assessments
    • Assist with individualized assessment procedures (e.g. curriculum based, developmental, social skills)
    • Assist with functional assessment procedures.
  • SKILL ACQUISITION
    • Identify the essential components of a written skill acquisition plan and prepare the session for the written skill acquisition plan
    • Use contingencies of reinforcement (e.g. conditioned/unconditioned reinforcement, continuous/intermittent schedules)
    • Implement discrete-trial teaching procedures and naturalistic teaching procedures (e.g. incidental teaching)
    • Implement task analyzed chaining procedures
    • Implement discrimination training and stimulus control transfer procedures
    • Implement fading procedures
    • Implement prompt and prompt fading procedures
    • Implement generalization and maintenance procedures
    • Assist with training of staff, parent and students
  • BEHAVIOR REDUCTION
    • Identify the essential components of a written behavior reduction plan
    • Describe common functions of behavior
    • Implement interventions based on modification of antecedents such as motivating/establishing operation, and discriminative stimuli
    • Implement differential reinforcement procedures (e.g., DRA, DRO)
    • Implement extinction procedures and crisis/emergency procedures according to protocol
  • DOCUMENTATION/REPORTING
    • Create objective session notes by describing what occurred during sessions as well as reporting variables that might affect the client (e.g., illness, medication, relocation)
    • Comply with applicable legal, regulatory and workplace requirements for data collections, storage and transportation
    • Comply with legal, regulatory and workplace reporting requirements (e.g., mandatory abuse and neglect reporting)
