Summary:
The Turbine Services Manager is responsible for managing/coordinating turbine/generator projects and maintenance for OPPD. Responsible for reviewing schedules, plant engineering documents and P&IDs, troubleshooting of plant systems and equipment, planning, organizing, integrating and direction of resources such as labor, tools and materials as required to complete the work scope. The primary responsibility of the Turbine Services Manager is to safely coordinate the maintenance and repair of the various turbine generator systems used in the OPPD fleet.
Responsibilities:
1. Descriptive statement(s) that clearly define the big differing work elements conducted by a particular role/job/title.
Direct and oversee repair or inspection procedures utilizing the latest electronic communication, references and documentation technologies.
Recognize, predict and document potential failures and future outage recommendations
Working knowledge of prints/print reading, such as manufacturing drawings, P&IDs and schematic drawings
Works with vendors to develop and refine planning tools and schedules; supports implementation with responsibility for the execution of project/maintenance tasks.
2. Coordinates with other activities and workgroups to prioritize shared resources; ensures adequacy of weather protection and environmental controls for equipment.
3. Manages material shipment schedules and logistical details, coordinates receipt and shipment of heavy haul materials (such as valves, rotors, etc.).
Facilitates onsite movement of materials with procurement of rental equipment and facilities as needed.
Supports implementation by securing timely delivery and shipment of materials.
Manages disposal and asset recovery of retired assets and waste materials; facilitates the shipment of material with scrap value to designated vendors and arranges shipment of waste materials to suitable waste facilities.
4. Monitor, coach and recommend additional training solutions for team members to develop the skills, knowledge and experience to be effective in role.
5. Maintain a detailed Subject Matter Expert with regard to the work and roles of the team. Assist in the training of new staff and cross training of existing staff.
Provide input to the development of performance management documentation.
6. This position is responsible for managing/coordinating turbine/generator projects and maintenance for OPPD. The incumbent performs the following:
Generates and resolves non-conformance reports, contract disputes, etc.
Reviews work packages and schedules for errors and efficiency gains.
Assists in development and review of equipment clearance orders.
Reviews technical procedures as temporary use vendor procedures.
Reviews modification details for technical errors and omissions.
Supports implementation by providing technical oversight during field installation and testing.
Identifies quality deficiencies and manufacturing defects and reports them appropriately
Reviews industry operating experience to identify error-likely situations, project risks and make appropriate recommendations to IWM and Power Generating Engineering.
Qualifications
Required:
+ Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or, a High School Diploma / GED, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in hands-on Steam Turbine experience
+ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels within the organization with proven ability to develop lasting and effective professional relationships.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and execute assigned projects while working with other professionals in a team-based environment.
+ Must have the ability to read and analyze blueprints schematics and have good administrative skills.
+ Shall be required to carry a cell phone
Desired:
+ Extensive knowledge of maintenance and operation on Steam Turbines.
+ Advanced degree in engineering, science, technology or mathematics degree
+ PMP Certification (Project Management Professional)
