Job Description
Definition An employee in this position will assist students individually and in small groups to provide remedial support in reading and/or math as directed. This employee will follow the direction of the classroom teacher and/or Principal and/or Instructional Facilitator.
Duties and Responsibilities - Works directly under the supervision of the classroom teacher and/or Instructional Facilitator.
- Works with students individually and in small groups to provide remedial support in reading and/or math, as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Ability to meet the needs of all diverse learners.
- Ability to work with students individually or in a small group.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
- Ability to develop and compile records and reports.
- Skilled in current assessments and using their data for teaching and learning.
- Understanding the growth and development of assigned students.
- Strong background in North Carolina Standard Course of Study/Common Core.
- Strong technology skills.
Minimum Education and Experience - Minimum of Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Must be fully licensed as an Elementary Teacher (00025) and have previous tutoring experience.
This Position Reports Directly to: Principal
Salary: $35.84 hour (Certified, without retirement) $30.13 hour (Certified, with retirement)
Classification: Non-Exempt
