Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Review curriculum for content area and grade level for students served in a given tutoring session.
- Guide students in activities to identify skill gaps - e.g. students partner with classroom teachers to verify skills needing improvement then share feedback with tutor.
- Assist in determining student needs and review those needs periodically to support students' performance in all classes.
- Create individual and small-group instruction plans for students, during tutor time, to improve academic performance.
Education
- High School Diploma required
Experience / Knowledge
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of the Common Core State Standards
- Familiarity with English Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies content.
- Willing to learn and implement researched based strategies to support students learning.
- High School Diploma
Physical Demands
- Must adhere to a fast paced schedule.
- Must be able to learn and use computer programs to support student learning.
- Must be able to monitor student computer use while working with small groups.
Terms of Employment
- This is a 1-year position. Hourly wages as established by the Board of Education.
