Provide youth and adult academic one-on-one tutoring and mentoring. Develop and monitors trainee learning assignments. Provide trainees positive feedback through prior life experiences. Assist youth and families to understand and overcome academic, emotional, and social barriers to achieve desired outcomes.Coordinate trainee assignments with other staff to achieve expected performance and outcomes.Perform all duties to the standards established by the organization and all applicable funding sources and regulatory bodies. Develop content for trainees including worksheets, online content, games, and content/lesson plans for virtual education purposes. Coach clients on the basic use of online / web-based resources and presences. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.Requirements
- Minimum postsecondary education.
- Direct contact and/or participation in youth organizations, activities and community service projects.
- Must possess digital & basic computer skills. Must be proficient in math and reading. Researching technologies and applications that can be used to create a virtual classroom.
- Required to maintain level of professional attendance, punctuality, alertness and energy necessary to complete job duties.
- Must be able to prioritize work assignments, meet deadlines and outcomes.
- Must be able to articulate through notes/minor documentation activities.
- Must be able to work with at-risk, underachieving youth and adults while practicing confidentiality, positive leadership and patience.
- Ability to assist in teaching use of computer/computers systems such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet software (e.g. Zoom or MS Teams), calculator, fax, copy machine and telephone.
