Provides academic assistance to assigned tutees, either in a group or individually. Establishes liaison with the instructor and works under the instructor's direction to assist the student. Maintains records on each student who is being tutored, including follow-up and periodic assessment. Helps students develop positive attitudes toward learning and studying and helps students develop a high level of motivation in academic areas. Assists students in achieving a better understanding of specific subject material and in improving academic capabilities in designated areas. Helps students develop the study skills necessary for academic success.EMBEDDED TUTORING: - Pro-actively engage students (in groups and/or individually) with learning exercises, monitoring students' level of comprehension, and assisting students in the classroom with materials and course content.
- Engage exclusively in student-centered tasks to support student learning and development.
- Understand the expectations of student work and assignments (rubrics, class assignments, and/or projects) and explain them to students in multiple ways.
- Prioritize student engagement and experience with the tutoring centers and services by promoting and sharing services available directly with students.
- Support the student and instruction to increase student engagement for academic growth and development.QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Management, Accounting, or business-related discipline. Consideration will be given to candidates who do not have a Bachelor's degree but possess technical certification(s) necessary for the subject being tutored.
- Possess excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse student body.
