Hours: 7.25 Per Day Pay: 19.50 Per Hour Time: Primarily Second Shift. Hours and Shift may change as determined by the Business Manager Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma with postsecondary education preferred
- Valid Ohio certificate or license as required by the State of Ohio
- Valid Ohio Driver's License
- CPR & First Aid credentials
- Trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and conflict mediation
- Experience working with at-risk students in a school environment.
- Ability to deal respectfully and tactfully with teachers, students, other staff and the public at all times.
- Successfully meets all mandated heath requirements.
- Documented evidence of a clear criminal record (FBI and BCI).
- Trained in ALICE school safety process.
Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are representative of performance expectations. A reasonable accommodation may be made to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform essential functions.
- Performs daily walk through inspections of facilities including visual inspections of doors and areas in and outside the building.
- Monitors student conduct and behavior in the hallways, cafeteria, other public areas and classrooms during instructional and non-instructional time. Maintains high standards and upholds the student conduct code. Exercises caution when physical restraint is required.
- Maintains effective relationships with community services (e.g., law enforcement, health care facilities, child welfare services, etc.).
- Responds to emergencies. Promptly documents all injuries that require a medical referral.
- Respects personal privacy. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.
- Maintains visibility and participates in school activities as time permits.
- Maintains a positive attitude at all times.
- Able to resolve concerns using conflict mediation strategies.
- Reports evidence of suspected child abuse as required by law.
- Accepts responsibility for decisions and conduct. Strives to develop rapport and serve as a positive role model for others.
- Maintains documentation and records required for behavioral accountability.
- Communicates with school personnel, and others as appropriate and required in regard to student behavior, conduct and progress.
- Works in collaboration with the building principal and/or other designated building staff to ensure safety and security of the building environment.
- Works in collaboration with the School Resource Officer (SRO) to resolve student matters.
- Coordinates security checks. Monitors the condition of the buildings and grounds.
- Reports problems (e.g., unusual odors, noises, leaks, etc.).
- Other duties as may be assigned by the Assistant Superintendent or his/her designee.
