We are actively looking for exceptionally talented individuals who are collaborative, confident and motivated to provide a first-class experience to clients within J.P. Morgan's Private Bank.

The J.P. Morgan Private Advisory team is a cross-disciplinary group of over 100 global specialists who collaborate to deliver innovative and forward-thinking strategies, working closely with Private Bank Advisors to help clients make well-informed decisions and achieve their goals.

The Senior Tax Strategist will report directly to the Head of Tax Strategy for the Private Bank. This individual will be expected to develop and deliver thought leadership, insights, and advice to advisors, clients, and prospects on critical wealth structuring techniques and strategies used across the high net worth wealth spectrum.

Job Responsibilities

Engaging with clients: Engage directly with clients and prospects who have complex tax and wealth structuring situations, in conjunction with their primary private banking coverage team and external advisors, to find or develop bespoke solutions to address their needs.

Developing thought leadership: Author or contribute to timely thought leadership to be shared with clients and prospects.

Presenting to advisors and clients: Participate in and present at internal and external forums to share wealth planning advice that helps our clients better leverage the solutions available to them.

Collaborating with internal partners: Work with partners across both the Private Bank and the firm to develop solutions and strategies addressing our clients' changing wealth structuring needs.

Acting as a subject matter expert: Supporting clients and internal partners with deep knowledge of legislative, legal, and regulatory issues and changes that affect the structures and strategies high net worth clients often employ.

Providing education and training: Educate internal partners and Private Bank advisors on important tax topics and foundational concepts.

Maintaining strong relationships: Build and maintain a strong professional network with external tax and legal advisors who work with our clients and prospects.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

Bachelor's degree required.

JD or CPA required.

6+ years of work experience in an analytically demanding role in the financial services industry, preferably in asset or wealth management, or in related, specialized professional services firms.

Knowledge of income taxes, transfer taxes, estate planning and fiduciary law, as well as related fields of law, for high net worth individuals required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with impeccable attention to detail.

Good listening and questioning skills in order to provide strategic advice.

Microsoft Office suite experience is required.

Willingness to travel.

Base Pay/Salary

New York, NY $170,000.00 - $350,000.00 / year
