276898 - Ultrasound Technologist - Waimea, HI - Full time Direct Hire Sigma Healthcare team is looking for Ultrasound Technologist to work onsite at our client's healthcare facility in Waimea, HIShift: Days, Full Time Position Summary: Prepares and performs ultrasound examinations on patients. Collaborates with physicians on examinations. Essential Functions Include But Are Not Limited To: Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physicians. Instruct patients regarding procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum test results. Follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment. Maintain ultrasound and vascular lab equipment in appropriate operating condition. Maintain examination rooms and work areas. Order and stock all ultrasound and vascular lab supplies. Experience : Prior recent experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer or Echo Ultrasound Technologist in acute health care facility preferred. Ability to use critical thinking skills to solve problems and make decisions. Ability to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests and work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team. Education/certification and licensure : Graduate of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) approved school of Ultrasound Technology or other approved program as determined by the department; or registered Radiologic Technologist with two (2) years supervised work/training in diagnostic ultrasound. Registered or registry candidate by ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) in Abdomen and OB/GYN sonography. Registered by ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) preferred. Current BLS/HCP certification. Active HI state license Physical Demands: Essential: walking, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking; reaching above and at shoulder level; repetitive arm/hand motions; static gripping of an object for prolonged periods; frequent gripping of an object. Continuous: sitting, reaching below shoulder level. Frequent: standing, stooping/bending, pushing/pulling maximum weight of 50 pounds of force. Occasional: sitting, kneeling, climbing stairs, squatting, lifting and carrying weight of 10 pounds up to 20 pounds.
