- Days per Week: Monday - Friday
- Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Job Summary The Ultrasound Technologist will conduct and assist with ultrasound examinations, support Radiologists, and ensure the proper maintenance and care of ultrasound equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for ultrasound procedures in line with established protocols.
- Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment, adhering to safety standards to protect patients and personnel.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor adjustments on equipment.
- Monitor and maintain adequate supplies for procedures.
- Provide orientation and mentorship to new ultrasound personnel.
- Capture and store images in PACS, transferring them to physicians' workstations.
- Handle administrative tasks, including answering calls, scheduling exams, and coordinating patient transportation as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- ARDMS certification (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer).
- At least 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general administrative practices.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Educational Requirements
- Required:
- Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Technology
- OR High School Diploma/GED with completion of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography technical training program.
Certifications and Licenses
- Required:
- ARDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)
- BLS (Basic Life Support - AHA)
Experience Needed
- OBGYN experience, including scanning all three trimesters, is highly preferred.
- Vascular ultrasound experience is not suitable for this position.
