Job Summary

• Operates heavy equipment.

General Accountabilities

• Operates a directional drills, excavators, trenchers, plows and other similar heavy machine equipment.
• Performs basic maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Able to identify utility locates and meaning.
• Locates underground services before performing work.
• Able to read and understand construction prints.
• Monitors operations to ensure all health and safety standards are met.
• Aligns machines with reference to stakes, markers or guidelines and/or hand signals of other workers.
• Loads and moves dirt, rocks, materials and/or other equipment.
• Coordinates machine's actions and/or activities for drilling in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.

Job Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience: At least one year of related experience
• Licenses/Certifications: For-Hire Endorsement, Required. DOT Physical, Required. CDL-A, Preferred.
