This is a hybrid position working 3 days onsite, 2 remote. Requirements:
- Underwrite property hybrid business, with the ability to analyze exposure to loss and adhere to corporate underwriting rules and guidelines.
- New business production and ability to develop strong customer relationships by providing top-notch service.
- Work with all functional areas of the company including claims, accounting, and product management to support company objectives.
- Ability to travel. This individual would be expected to spend time on the road after the initial training process.
- Build relationships with intermediaries, ceding companies, and others which would benefit the organization.
- Maintain awareness of competitor capabilities and strategies, as well as the overall (re)insurance marketplace.
- Experience working with catastrophe models a plus.
- Property Facultative experience a plus.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as an Underwriter or directly with Underwriters in a technical capacity.
- Excellent marketing skills and established relationships with insurance companies and/or brokers.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and writing skills with the ability to flourish in a team environment.
- Prior Reinsurance experience a plus.
- The ability to interpret complex pricing application outputs including outputs from catastrophe modeling and actuarial methodologies.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required.
For NYC Only: The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 annually.
