Underwriting Technical Assistant - Transactional Risk

Angove is partnering with an award-winning insurance company, seeking an Underwriting Technical Assistant in New York, NY. It's an exciting time for the business, which is expanding into new jurisdictions and solidifying its position as a market leader in M&A in North America.

What is the role?

As a member of the underwriting team on transactional insurance deals, the Underwriting Assistant will support the underwriting process, handling a variety of workstreams in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. The role will be very hands-on and provide in-depth exposure to M&A and corporate transactions.

What will you be doing?

• Review new business submissions with precision and promptly clearing them for processing, paying close attention to detail.
• Populate underwriting applications with the required information to accurately rate, documents, and issue policies that comply with regulations.
• Effectively bind and issue both new and renewal commercial insurance policies, handling processes such as endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements.
• Troubleshoot booking and accounting issues or discrepancies.
• Deliver timely and efficient service to internal and external customers, including underwriters and brokers.
• Collaborate with resources throughout the organization to actively pursue ongoing process optimization and innovation.

What do you need to apply to this role?

We anticipate that candidates will have at least one year of professional work experience. Industry experience is welcome, but not necessary. A background or education in finance, accounting, operations, or paralegal work is a plus.
